Facebook event signup. for July 14 launch event.
Representatives of all active DiversCity working groups will gather with our supporting citizens to mark the beginning of the formal DiversCity effort. Each active working group will have an information table where you can share input, sign up for involvement and see what they're working on. Currently Government, Education, Faith & Religion, and Family seem certain to be functioning. Business, Economy & Labor will be active. We're still working on Art and Culture and Science; and Technology, Medicine and Environment.
The DiversCity project will publish and read the DiversCity Declaration of Resistance. If participants wish, they’ll be able to become a subscribing citizen to the DiversCity Declaration of Resistance, which is being edited with public input now. We will also read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The new Diversity Logo will be unveiled to the public.

Supporters of DiversCity will share a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish to share if you can. If that’s difficult, don’t worry, there will be enough for all. William Hamilton will bake the bread for the meal.
July 14 is Bastille Day and the day Denmark Vesey set for his rebellion in SC.
DiversCity will continue to organize during the meeting. For the full organizational plan see https://lc-up-is-good.blogspot.com/2024/06/how-well-defend-our-hummock.html online.
The Unitarian Church of Charleston has agreed to rent Gage Hall to Up is Good. The church does not necessarily endorse the policies of Up is Good or the DiversCity project.
