DiversCity Charleston is a coalition project in Charleston, SC with Lowcountry Up is Good, and others groups. It's goal is to establish a permanent standing coalition defense of the SC Lowcountry against Christian Dominionist attempts to control our public life, schools, churches, culture, media, science and technology, family, and government by Moms for Liberty, Unity City. A group of sovereign citizens and other groups. Over half a million dollars in funding is being used to target the Charleston area and Lowcountry.

Our Plan to Defend the 7 Hummocks of Lowcountry Culture
DiversCity Charleston is building a flat, collaborative network between strong existing community organizations and leaders. Each "hummock" will be protected by a small working group and a larger response group representing churches, non profits, educational institutions and local progressive leaders. Even conservatives have been included because while we have disagreements between us, we have long agreed on how we should disagree. The atmosphere of chaos unleased by Moms for Liberty and Unity City has been incredibly wasteful, burning up thousands of hours of community volunteer time at the school boards. This chaos won't spread to our town and city governments, community institutions and neighborhoods because we're going to stop them where they are now and push them back this fall. Read our detailed plan and the schedule to July 14
Funding for this superficially religious crusade comes from the same Billionaire's organizations funding Project 2025 and political campaigns down to the school board level. It's simply the cheapest way to bulldoze the citizens of the communities standing in their way. Their goal is to exterminate democracy at the neighborhood level and gangs of sovereign citizens aren't going to work to get bigger corporate tax funds or slash Medicare. It's all one fight against the same money. Read our blogpost on how our local fight relates to the national one and why Unity City came to Charleston to spend hundreds of Thousands of dollars.

Lowcountry Up is Good, PAC, Inc. is planning a demonstration protest in front of the home of Ed Kelly, the school board member most responsible for the Moms for Liberty sponsored chaos destroying our public school system. He's been skipping coming to meetings in person and zooming in from what is apparently his home. Read the full press release. These meetings run for hours and a train wreck of a meeting is set for Mon. June 24. See school board agenda. If we have to sit through hours of meetings with unprepared Moms for Liberty Board members who may not have read the Agenda Ed helps produce, then Ed ought to be there to.
